Though filled with manmade parts and bellowing with rust and steam, the hallway has also clearly been reclaimed by nature. Vibrant green moss grows across the walls, sunlight shines down on pale flowers through glass, gnats hum about. You feel more comfortable than you should. [[Walk forward]]You travel onwards through the halls of the Conservatory. As you go the moss only seems to become more prevalent and you see roots sprouting from ventalation systems. A faint haze of steam can be seen collecting towards the glass cieling. The moisture feels nice on your gelatinous body. What do you do? [[Keep going]] [[Go back|Walk forward]]You just barely are able to pass through the doorway on account of your amorphous body. Inside is a dim room with rows of anicient computer servers with spider webs of cords and wires weaving across the ground and hanging from the cieling. The servers display text and characters the likes of which you cannot decipher. There are sealed metal doors at the far end of the room with two circular panels, one red and one blue. Additionally, there is a thin, horned individual crouched near one of the servers, fiddling with the mechanics through an unskrewed panel. They are clearly a scholar of some sort. What do you do? [[Speak to the scholar]] [[Go through the door]] [[ Go back|Walk forward]]The door is a massive, dark, metallic color with two sides which would slide open, the left and right side baring a blue and red panel respectively. (if:$Magnee is true)[[Call Magnee over]] [[Leave|Squeeze past the door]] (if:$MagneeAsk is 1)[You tap the scholar, causing her to jump in shock. She turns around and rises. She is far taller than you initially expected, probably five times as tall as you, and with massive red and blue gauntlets on each hand. "MY MY! Didn't expect to see a monster in this room! I had thought nothing would pass farther than the Greenhouse Dome. What brings you here my little colleague?"] (if:$MagneeAsk >1)["Hello my little friend!" Magnee exclaims. "I'm sure you've heard of my work at the Reldbilt College of Technology and Arts?... perhaps my work in the field of electromagnetic studies?... Nevermind that, I suppose you'd not be tapped in to the acedemic worlds anyways considering where you live." [[Back|Speak to the scholar]](set: $MagneeAsk to it +1) "Ah! A fellow persuer of knowledge I see?" Magnee cheerfully exclaims. "Yes, there is such a perplexing system just past those doors..." she points towards the doors at the far end of the hallway, "I'm simply charged at the thought of learning the purpose of said machine, and these servers seem to be connected, so I've taken it upon myself to disect the functions of them." [[Back|Speak to the scholar]]Professor Magnee stares at you strangely through her round glasses. "Help me?" she says as if she hadn't expected the words. She chuckles lightly to herself, "Hmm... a research assistant would be greatly helpful to me... though with your lack of limbs I doubt you're specialized for intricate work." She points with one of her gauntlets towards the exit, "down the hall from this room, past the Greenhouse Dome where the siblings host their teaparties, I believe there's a vending machine with batteries inside, it was likely used back when the Conservatory was still in function. My gauntlets are low on battery and it'd help a great deal if you could fetch me some!" You happily nod, agreeing to help her. What do you do? (if:$Battery is true)[[Give Magnee the Batteries]] [[Back|Speak to the scholar]] Eventually the narrow halls give way to a massive room with a glass dome for a cieling. The room is filled with natural terrain, trees, and a small waterfall that collects in a clear pond. It feels like you're outdoors. Sat at an ornate, silver table next to the pond is a fashionable individual with a piercing gaze as well as a younger individual wearing a tall gold hat. They seem to be drinking tea, though the younger of the two doesn't seem as invested as the other. [[Back|Speak to the older noble]](set: $CylvirAsk to it +1) "Yes, I see why a tea party among the halls of the Conservatory may seem odd..." Cylvir responds. "You see, me and my sister were travelling through the tower as I was searching for a new ingredient to try making tea with, and wouldn't you beleive it I found the perfect thing right in this greenhouse! Popsil lilies! They were thought to be extinct, but I found a bed of them right here, preserved by time." Cylvir plucks a white flower from the ground, explaining "they have the most delicate flaver when mixed into tea. I beleive I may have them grown on an industrial level whenever me and Gulld return home, but for now I've chosen to host a party and expirience the tranquility of the spot." [[Back|Speak to the older noble]]You pass through the door and inside is a small room with several plugs and outlets on the walls as well as a large vending machince with only a few batteries left on its shelves. Gulld does not notice this offhanded insult as shes too focused on meticulusly breaking down a sugar cube and making a mess. Cylvir seems absolutely entranced by the flower, exclaiming "My! What a truly elegant thing you've given be here! Truly fitting of a member of the Raerurt family! This shall go perfectly in my next batch of popsil tea, it will surely be my best mixture yet!" She procedes to toss the flower into her teapot, soaking it in tea and surely ruining it's beauty. For a moment you consider spending the rest of eternity screaming from the bottom of the pond. Cylvir extends an arm, saying "Thank you ever so much dear. As I promised, a reward." She drops a large rust-colored coin with a hexagonal shape cut out of the center in front of you, explaining "That is a Rhelik. You grab it eagerly. [[Leave|Go through the hidden door]](set: $Magnee to true) (set: $MagneeAsk to it +1) You give Professor Magnee the battery from the vending machine. Magnee exclaims "My my! What a proficient research assistant you are little slime! I hope this was not too much trouble for you." She procedes to open a plate on each of her gauntlets and intserts a battery inside. The gauntles whir to life and you can see the static force around them. "Now then! Seems we're ready to go onwards! run by that door across the room when you're ready, the one with the red and blue panels, I'll show that device I was speaking of earlier, I beleive I may have cracked the code on what it may be!" [[Back|Speak to the scholar]]You stand in front of the giant metal door as Professor Magnee makes her way over. "Stand back!" she yells, holding her arms out, gauntlets towards the red and blue panels. She latches her arms to both panels through magnetic force and slowly pushes the two sides of the door apart until they're wide enough to walk through. Letting go, she lets out a deep breath and admires her accomplishment. "Haha! Doors may be heavy, but thats no match for science!" What do you do? [[Walk through]]You and Magnee finally enter the room she had spoken about. While at first it is dark, as the two of you enter, the dome cieling lights up with artificial constellations. You can pick out Taurus, Gemini, and Aquarius above. At the center of the room though, there is a system terminal. Magnee approaches the terminal and quickly begins tapping buttons. Magnee explains, "You see my little friend, this spot is quite the remarkable thing. Not only does it map out the stars..." The dome suddenly lights up with purple holograms of various points and lines, "...But it is a live diagram of where they went, the ancient archetects who built this magnificent Conservatory..." You look in awe at the overwhelming wonder of it all. [[Gaze]]"My little Research Assistant, I beleive that through this technology, we too can explore these further stretches of the imagination that those archetects wished to know. Right now, we are inside of a space capsule within the Conservatory which could show us that space beyond the horizon they crossed." "So I ask you..." [[Listen]]"Will you join me on this next adventure?" [[Yes]] [[No]]"Marvelous" Magnee smiles brightly and presses one last button. Steam pours from the room's walls, Windows open throughout the room, and you watch the world below grows ever smaller. No matter how faryou may be, you feel that theres nothing greater than adventure and those you meet along the way. Maybe the great space explorer, Professor Magnee and her trusty slime monster research assistant will be the greatest story to ever be told, but all you can hope for is to enjoy this world for all it has. The End."Hm... I did hope you'd say something different, but nonetheless, I've enjoyed my time with you as my research assistant. I'll use the terminal to open an exit from the Conservatory for you, but afterwards I will be travelling beyond this system. I hope... somehow... we may meet again." And so, as you travel down a glass elevator through the heart of the Conservatory, you can see your new friend flying far beyond the clouds. You are happy for her, but adventure was never what you wanted. You're happy to be going home. The End.
